So – I totally stole the below concept from my running buddy Mr. Jason Mraz. Ok, we don’t necessarily hang out together – but we did run the Country Music Marathon last year…with 30,000 of our closest friends! I really think he’s on to something here because we often start off a day totally defeated because all we see are our failures and broken dreams and promises. Why not remember who God made us to be as we start our day? Why not affirm the wonderful blessings in our lives and remember how beautiful this life can be.

Why is it easier to affirm “something’s wrong” than to say “everything’s great?”

Isn’t it strange for us to say, “I’m lazy. I’m fat. I’m no good,” thereby creating our life experience to be one that is late, tired, and worthless. Leave it to our egos to keep us in that small game and hold us back. If you haven’t started yet, I invite you take on affirmations that brighten your day. Create a bigger life for yourself simple by saying things like, “I am tireless, perfect being. I have access to everything and I am complete.”

Check out Jessica’s Daily Affirmation. She’s got it all figured out.

Go shout everything you love about you.

Dear Mom & Dad -

I know I am loved. First off, I know my Lord loves me without ceasing and my parents and friends would do anything for me. I am whole and complete just as I am. I love my life. I love my job. I love my brother and sis n law. I love my puppy. I love my friends. I love running. I love that I am bald. I love that this is what my life looks like. I love you!

Scott

Psalm 139:13-18

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand. When I awake, I am still with you.

Final Episode

(And We Have A Winner…And A Recap…Fun Fun!)

Ok…if you haven’t noticed there was NOT an Episode 12 recap…that was intentional…I was striving to build momentum for the finale. Or well…I’ve actually been working and traveling quite a bit lately. I REALLY don’t like watching episodes on anything other than my big screen in mi casa. Survivor in HD is just beyond gorgeous…but where there is no Amanda, the beauty just fades… ;-) Here’s my last three-week recap on how I watched Survivor: 2 hotel room TV’s (27ish inch old-school sets with the blur at no extra charge) and one episode on my iPhone. I had it dvr’ed on AT&T’s Uverse back at my house so I pulled it up via Slingbox on my aforementioned iPhone. It was actually fairly good quality but everyone was just so tiny. NOT my favorite viewing experience of all time but it worked well and sustained my needs for that week. And yes…that was a shameless plug for my company – AT&T and for a company that I’d love to sponsor me – Sling Media.

Episode 11

(The Final Push!)

Well…it happened…Colby finally was able to step up to the plate with a big performance in a challenge and Jerri finally won an immunity challenge. Go old-school Survivor players go! Old-school…and they are MY age! Russell finds ANOTHER idol. Or was that last week. Nope – it’s EVERY week. Just an FYI – there is a new “Russell rule” for idols in the new seasons. In short, they won’t be so easily found. That’s good news I guess. He and his plethora of idols are entertaining at least!

Ok…bad news…at least for me….Amanda was voted out….Let that soak in…she’s gone…and left me all alone. Kinda makes a grown man want to ball up in the fetal position and cry. Ok, it’s not that bad but it’s NOT COOL. You can’t vote out MY Amanda! But they did. Unfairly and unjustly. I’m digressing just a bit but the pain is just too recent…

Due to some time restrictions we don’t have a full recap this week BUT with not one, but TWO eliminations this week…I’ll have plenty to talk about this weekend. So get your popcorn ready for Thursday night and let’s meet back on Sunday or so. Sound bueno? Si, muy bueno. (It’s Cinco de Mayo folks! Hope you ate great Mexican food tonight)
